Huey's
Diner
HOWE+ARDEN
This Classic 1950's style diner is located right nect to Chili's in the
Howe/Bout Arden complex. They offer lots of great American food, with lots
of nostialgic stuff around.
Chili's HOWE+ARDEN
Sorry, now all you can think about is that stupid "Baby Back
Ribs" commercial! Besides the ribs, and Awesome Blossoms, Chili's
offers a ton of great beers on tap at the bar. It's a great place to take
a date before hitting the movies by Arden Fair Mall.
Paesano's MIDTOWN
To get a hold of some great Italian food, go to Paesano's. From Pizza to
pasta, everything on the menu is great. They also have a large variety of
fine wines to go with every meal. Be prepared to wait a while before
seated - It is very popular and can get pretty crowded.
Rubicon Brewing Co. MIDTOWN
Rubicon offers a ton of great appetizers and beer, of course. If you're a
big fan of microbrews, grab a "Rubi-cube": a refillable cube of
beer (a couple of gallons) that fits perfectly into your fridge. Always a
popular "to-go" item.
River City Brewing Co. DOWNTOWN PLAZA
Stop by River City next time you're shopping or whatever at the K Street
Mall. With 2 stories of dining, you won't be disappointed with the food or
the beer. Cruise by here before or after going to the movies downtown.
Hard Rock Cafe DOWNTOWN PLAZA
Hard Rock is always a popular choice to Sacramento newcomers. Located in
the old America Live location of the K Street Mall, they offer great food,
and tons of rock memorabilia all over every inch of the place. Be prepared
for a 30-45 minute wait on the weekends - they give you pagers for when
your table is ready!
TGI Friday's HOWE+HURLEY Fridays has the best appetizers around, as
well as a ton of great drinks. From their famous Mudslides to Potato
Skins, it's an awesome place to eat, drink and be merry.
El Torito HOWE+HURLEY
Happy hour is 5-8 p.m. Come by after class or whatever and enjoy the drink
specials and cheap food. This place is too cool. Order up their Happy hour
nachos and feast for only a buck or two. Come for the food, stay for that
second (or third) grande margarita. Can you say... "taxi"?
Chevy's HOWE+HURLEY, GARDEN HWY
Part of the "Triangle" (Chevy's-ElTo-Friday's), and this place
does not disappoint. As usual, great food, good drinks, yada yada yada.
Find out which of these three places you like the most and frequent them
often. It's what college is all about. 'Chevy's on the Levy' off Garden
Highway is also a popular spot to dine as well.
Woody's GARDEN HIGHWAY
Woody's is located right on the river, along Garden Highway. They have
great views if it's warm enough to dine outside, and great food as well.
They're starting to have bands and such play on a regular basis as well.
Open seasonally (when the weather is nice).
